Casework Review
Initial Guidance
An initial assessment of forensic biology findings with advice and recommendations. We do not undertake a review of findings where our initial guidance suggests that this will not assist in addressing the client’s issues.
Production of a detailed quotation for LAA funding purposes, including notes on the significance of points raised by the Defence team.
Review of Findings
A comprehensive review of the prosecution-instructed findings, including consideration of continuity, the validity and limitations of the techniques used, and consideration of the significance of the findings within the contextual framework of case circumstances.
Particular questions and issues specified by the client are addressed in a detailed discussion.
Communication of Opinions
Evidential reports are provided in expert witness statement format compliant with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Rules and the Criminal Justice Acts 1967 and 1988.
Opinions are delivered in clear and concise language. Follow-up expert clarification is available, where required.
Expert Witness Services
Pre-trial assistance to Counsel; clarification of issues and comment on cross-examination strategy, where required.
Court attendance; pre-trial discussion, assistance during cross-examination, and provision of expert testimony, where required.
